What are Group Physiotherapy Exercise sessions?
Personalised whole body conditioning programs using specialised equipment (reformer, wunda chair, weights , balls etc) focusing on balanced development of the body to optimise the way we move.
The aim is to correct faulty movement patterns and compensation strategies and to enhance biomechanics by addressing muscle and joint inflexibilities, weaknesses or imbalances which may be associated with pain, injury or poor posture.
By looking at the whole body’s movement mechanics rather than individual parts it aims to address the underlying causes of injury and pain to prevent injuries recurring or happening at all.
In place clinical studio sessions combine Physiotherapy evidence based exercises and Pilates inspired exercises to promote core strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body awareness for better alignment and posture allowing more balanced and coordinated movements.
Exercises draw on the latest research and the therapists' specialist knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of movement for more specific movement selection and technical correction.
Studio equipment utilises spring resistance which may be used to assist some movements or to challenge others.
Clients work closely with an experienced instructor/physiotherapist on an individual program designed from a full body assessment taking into account posture, muscle balance, strength, flexibility, injury history and personal goals.
Studio sessions can be progressed or regressed and tailored to suit most individuals.
